TheLarch created this complex greeting envisioning some aged Gallic crone answering the telephone (which would be for her a complicated technology) in some seaside Breton village. The full text of the greeting goes like this:

<TheLarch> allô?
<TheLarch> qui est à l'appareil?
****TheLarch bangs the receiver on the table
<TheLarch> *bang*bang*bang*bang*

Coming as it does from TheLarch, one can't help but notice the resemblance to the "Mrs Premise and Mrs Conclusion visit Jean-Paul Sartre" sketch in episode 27 (third season, airdate 10/19/72) of Monty Python's Flying Circus, which also gave us "Busy?! I've just spent four hours burying the cat!"
