The Magnificent Seven

Taking our name from the 1960 film by John Sturges (itself a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film "The Seven Samurai"), the core seven members of the DfH, or Diners from Hell Club, first came together at Netboy's almost-suprise 23rd birthday party. Held on February 20, 2000 at the Japantown Behihana, the event later dubbed "Timmyhana" marked the first of many get-togethers for this group, both at dinners with the rest of the DfH gang and for other events.

By the autumn of 2000, though, the seven of us would end up something like our filmic namesakes -- without our horses and guns, and far away from the town and life that we once called home. Three of us (Ira, TygR, and myself) have physically moved away from San Francisco. Decay- is never on channel any more; Netboy and nrs only sporadically. Even Nutation is on less than he used to be, busy with a new job...

But what glorious times we had. As Yul Brynner's character so memorably said..."I've been paid a lot for my work, but never everything"
