Monty-Python-isms

It would be impossible to list ALL the references to Monty Python that abound on the channel -- there are just too many! The ones listed elsewhere inthe Huh? Glossary are ones I personally use a lot, but there are tons of Monty-Python-isms that are used on channel every day. British comedy troupe Monty Python is considered by some to be the finest example of British humour. For other people, this is an oxymoron. (But then they probably can't appreciate the work of film auteur John Waters either, right corsican?)

For some reason I don't quite fully understand, there's always been a strange affinity between geeks (particularly sysops and sysadmins) and Monty Python. Something about absurdity, maybe. In many ways, for us older channel folk, Monty Python was our The Simpsons. Anyways, I've always found that most of the channel at least recognizes a Monty Python reference when they see it, even if they don't or can't participate.

Most of the references are from the BBC television series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" but other well-known references come from the Monty Python movies "Monty Python and The Holy Grail", "Life of Brian", "The Meaning of Life", or "Live at the Hollywood Bowl".
