Josh Play Gay Not Quite a motss.con vii (via Zoom)

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, the soc.motss.con bunch had another Zoom call.

We had 22 people over the course of the ninety minutes or so I was there. I had fun catching up, and it seemed like others did too. Discussion topics (as I wrote them down, but not necessarily in chronological order) included:

  • Technical issues
  • Travel and masking
  • Zoom versus in person
  • Unqualified judges, masking mandates, and the Great Unmasking
  • Weather (hot in midwest and east, colder than expected in the west)
  • Boosters and waiting for the newer Moderna variant, getting shots at drugstores versus doctors versus state-run facilities
  • Working from home versus the office
  • motsscons past (and maybe future — a minicon in Philadelphia once things are sane again)
  • Politics (national, regional, and local), including Steph's candidacy
  • Job hunting, medical leave, and mental health
  • People no longer with us, moments of silence, caring for each other over time (net.motss was founded in 1983)
  • Volunteering
  • People we miss who aren't on today's call
  • Health and retirement, downsizing
