On Saturday, December 24, 2022, the soc.motss.con bunch had another Zoom call.

We had 17 people over the course of the not quite two hours or so I was there. I had fun catching up, and it seemed like others did too. Discussion topics (as I wrote them down, but not necessarily in chronological order) included:
  • Getting Zoom working
  • Religious beliefs, people's image of God or gods, Christianity
  • Vatican II and de-saitifying St. Christopher
  • Supernatural woo, Buddhism, and other religious history
  • Philosophy and the belief in the transcendental (whether personified or not)
  • Community and the Church's role in creating it
  • Religion in history and on television
  • Predestination versus free will
  • Language
  • Meditation, hypnosis, dissociation, stress, and anxiety
  • Weighted blankets and recalls
  • Narcolepsy, comas, auras, migraines, and other medical fun and excitement
  • Food and meetings
  • COVID and quarrantine
  • Horses, boats, and shopping
  • Understanding of literature when climate change affects things
  • Shopping for a loaf of bread, gallon of milk, and cigarettes
  • Stigma and changes over time
  • FBI records and tracking
  • People's interactions with the government
  • Spying (domestically and not)
  • Disappearing in foreign countries
  • Ballet and the arts
