Josh Play Recipes Soup Beef Barley Soup

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice onion.
  2. Peel and dice (or press) garlic.
  3. Sauté onion and garlic until tender.
  4. Add beef tenderloin tips and brown on all sides.
  5. Gradually add beef broth and water.
  6. Add pearl barley.
  7. Grind fresh black pepper into the soup (about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp, to taste).
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Reduce to a simmer and cover tightly.
  10. Cook at least 3 hours, until barley is tender.
  11. Serve with garlic toast and salad.
